Do Croatian citizens need a visa for Vietnam?
No, for tourism up to 45 days. Croatian citizens can enter Vietnam without a visa for up to 45 days for tourism under Resolution 229/NQ-CP, valid from August 15, 2025 to August 14, 2028, according to the Vietnam tourism authority.
The bilateral table on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs list (published June 30, 2025, checked October 2026) shows Croatia only for diplomatic and official passports, so the resolution is what covers an ordinary passport. You still need a valid passport and a ticket out. Our page on Vietnam visa exemption rules lists every country covered.
How the 45-day exemption works
A Croatian traveler needs a visa when the stay goes past 45 days or the purpose is not tourism. Croatia is one of 12 European countries in Resolution 229/NQ-CP, a decision by Vietnam alone.
KPMG Vietnam reports the conditions: a passport valid for at least six months, no entry ban, and tourism only, with no work mixed in. The resolution ends on August 14, 2028.
When Croatian citizens need a visa for Vietnam
Whether travelers from Croatia need a visa depends on the length and purpose of the stay: they need a Vietnam e-visa for any stay longer than 45 days and for any trip that is not tourism, such as business.
Apply before you fly: the e-visa lets you stay up to 90 days, with single or multiple entry, under Law 23/2023/QH15.
Typical cases are a business trip or a long working holiday. A 90-day e-visa costs no more than a 30-day one through us.

Ordered on Tuesday at 11:00 instead (16:00 in Vietnam), Emergency still arrives by 12:30, but Super Urgent and Same day have passed their cut-offs: Super Urgent arrives on Wednesday at 6:00 and Same day on Wednesday at 9:00.

Vietnam visa on arrival for Croatian citizens
Croatian citizens have little reason to use visa on arrival: a stay of 45 days or less needs no visa, and a longer one is simpler with an e-visa.
Visa on arrival works only at Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Cam Ranh, with an approval letter obtained before you board and a $25 or $50 stamping fee at the airport. If you want to compare the options, you can choose a service.
Vietnam embassy in Croatia
You do not need an embassy for an e-visa, which is issued online. For consular help, check the list of Vietnamese missions on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website (mofa.gov.vn) for the one that covers Croatia.
Tips for Croatian travelers
Two points help Croatian travelers: the purpose limit, and the clock change.
The exemption is for tourism only
A meeting, conference or work assignment is a business trip and needs a visa. If a trip mixes holiday and business, apply for the e-visa.
Summer time ends on October 25
Croatia follows summer time until the last Sunday in October, which is October 25, 2026. After that each cut-off falls one hour later; the table shows both.
eVisaVietnam.com is a private visa service operated by TK VIET NAM., JSC, not the Vietnamese government. You can apply yourself at evisa.gov.vn for US$25. If you want your files checked and a delivery time backed by a full refund, apply for your e-visa with us.
