The Vietnam embassy directory above covers embassies and consulates in 70 countries. Choose your country in the table for the address, phone, email and listed hours of the embassy of Vietnam there. You do not need an embassy for an e-visa, which is applied for online, and you can apply for your e-visa in about ten minutes.

eVisaVietnam.com is a private visa service operated by TK VIET NAM., JSC, not the Vietnamese government or an embassy. The details on each country page come from our embassy directory, built from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs list, so confirm hours on the embassy's own website before you go.

Vietnam embassy directory: how it is organized

Each country page lists the Vietnamese offices in that country. The Vietnamese embassy sits in the capital. A consulate general serves another city, and a permanent mission represents Vietnam at an international body such as the United Nations.

Large consulates sit under the page of their country, so you search by country, not by city. The next section says whether you need an embassy at all.

Do you need a Vietnamese embassy for a visa?

For a holiday, a family visit or a short business trip, no. Most travelers use one of three routes, and only a longer or special stay needs the embassy. Check the rule for your passport on our page on whether you need a visa for Vietnam.

Visa-free stays

Citizens of some countries stay in Vietnam without a visa for a set number of days, and the rules change by passport. The list is on our visa exemption page, with dates and sources.

The e-visa

The e-visa is valid for up to 90 days, for single or multiple entry, and every nationality can apply. You apply online and carry the PDF with your passport. The only government site for it is evisa.gov.vn; our page on the official website and private services explains how to tell them apart.

Visa on arrival

Visa on arrival needs an approval letter first and works only at four airports. Our comparison of e-visa and visa on arrival helps you choose.

Consulates that sit under a country page

A Vietnam consulate in your city usually sits under its country page. The table lists the larger consulates and the country page that covers each.

Two places need their own note, because they are not countries with an embassy page.

Hong Kong, Taipei and places without an embassy page

Hong Kong has a consulate general, not an embassy, and Taipei has an economic and cultural office. Neither has a page in the table. Their details below come from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs list, so confirm them before you go.

Hong Kong consulate general

The Vietnam consulate in Hong Kong is the Consulate General of Vietnam, at 12/F and 15/F, Great Smart Tower, 230 Wan Chai Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong. The ministry list gives the email [email protected] and the phone numbers +852 2834 0200 and +852 2834 0233. It lists the website vnconsulate-hongkong.mofa.gov.vn.

Taipei economic and cultural office

In Taipei, Vietnam has the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office, on floors 2 and 3 of 65 Songjiang Road, Taipei. The ministry list gives the email [email protected] and the website vnoffice-taipei.mofa.gov.vn.

If your country is not in the table, look it up in the directory of overseas missions on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website. The e-visa works from anywhere. Two things help before you contact any office: the opening hours and the public holiday calendar.

Before you contact an embassy

Embassies may close on Vietnamese public holidays and on local ones, so check both. Our page on Vietnamese public holidays lists the Vietnamese days.

Phone numbers and opening hours change more often than addresses, and a number that no longer connects is a sign to check the embassy website for a notice. Write or call first, because consular sections often open for only a few hours a day. Ask which documents to bring, whether you need an appointment and how long the service takes, so you do not travel for nothing. Bring your passport and any forms the embassy lists on its website. For an order with us, use the contact page.

Apply for the e-visa instead

A Vietnam e-visa through us starts at $47 for single entry, government fee included, and $82 for multiple entry. Standard takes 5 to 7 working days, and faster speeds are on our urgent e-visa page. You apply in three steps:

  1. Enter your details: Passport, travel dates, the airport or border gate you will use and your speed.
  2. Pay and add files: Pay by card, then upload your passport data page and a recent photo.
  3. Receive the e-visa: We check everything, submit it and email you the approved PDF.

You can also apply yourself at evisa.gov.vn for US$25. Our guide on how to apply walks through both. If you want your files checked and a delivery time backed by a full refund, apply for your e-visa with us.

Frequently asked questions, answered

Where is the Vietnam embassy in my country?

Choose your country in the table above. Each page lists the address, phone, email and listed hours of the Vietnamese embassy and of any consulate in that country.

Can I get a Vietnam visa at the embassy?

Ask the embassy for its current rules, because they depend on the visa type. For tourism, family visits and short business trips, the e-visa online is the standard route and needs no visit.

Is there a Vietnam consulate in Hong Kong?

Yes. Vietnam has a Consulate General in Wan Chai, Hong Kong, at the address in the section above, and no separate embassy. Confirm the opening hours with the consulate before you go.

What is the difference between an embassy and a consulate general?

An embassy is in a country's capital. A consulate general serves another city. We list consulates on the page of their country.

Does the embassy fix mistakes on an e-visa?

No. An embassy does not edit an issued e-visa. Our guide to correcting an e-visa shows what you can fix and how.
