Do Fijian citizens need a visa for Vietnam?
Yes. Fijian citizens with an ordinary passport need a visa for any stay in Vietnam, and the e-visa is the usual route.
Fiji is not on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs exemption list (published June 30, 2025, checked October 2026), and it is not among the 12 countries added to the 45-day list by Resolution 229/NQ-CP, in force from August 15, 2025.
One lookup page says Fijians can stay 90 days without a visa, and another says only that an electronic authorization is needed; the Ministry's table shows no exemption for Fiji. For the general rules, see Do I need a visa for Vietnam?

Vietnam visa for Fijian citizens: urgent cut-offs in Suva time
Standard takes 5 to 7 working days. The urgent speeds use Vietnamese working days, which start at 8:00 in Vietnam, or 13:00 in Suva.
| Order cut-off | Suva time |
|---|---|
| Same day (Vietnam 14:15) | 19:15 |
| Super Urgent (Vietnam 15:30) | 20:30 |
| Emergency (Vietnam 17:30) | 22:30 |
| 1 working day (Vietnam 18:00) | 23:00 |
Example: you order on Tuesday at 14:00 in Suva, which is 9:00 on Tuesday in Vietnam. Emergency arrives by 15:30, Super Urgent by 16:30 and Same day by 23:00, all in Suva time. Ordered on Tuesday at 21:00 instead (16:00 in Vietnam), Emergency still arrives by 22:30, but Super Urgent and Same day have passed their cut-offs: Super Urgent arrives on Wednesday at 16:00 and Same day on Wednesday at 19:00.
The weekend window starts at Friday 23:00 in Suva and ends on Sunday at 21:00. In that window, order the Weekend and public holidays speed before 20:20 and it arrives by 23:30 the same day. Our urgent e-visa page has every speed in Vietnam time.

Visa on arrival for Fijian citizens
Fijian citizens can use visa on arrival only when flying into Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang or Cam Ranh. You need an approval letter before you board and pay a $25 or $50 stamping fee at the airport.
It does not work for cruise ports or land borders. For most trips the e-visa is simpler; you can compare both when you choose a service.
Vietnam embassy in Fiji
You do not need an embassy for an e-visa, which is issued online. For consular help, check the list of Vietnamese missions on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website (mofa.gov.vn) for the one that covers Fiji.
Tips for Fijian travelers
Two points help Fijian travelers: ignoring the 90-day visa-free claim, and ordering early enough in your day.
Do not rely on the 90-day visa-free claim
One lookup site says Fijian passport holders can enter Vietnam without a visa for 90 days. The Ministry's table does not list Fiji, and the same site goes on to describe an e-visa. Apply for the e-visa before you fly.
Order earlier in the day
Because Suva runs ahead of Vietnam, the urgent cut-offs fall in your afternoon and evening: Same day closes at 19:15 and Emergency at 22:30. An order placed in the evening can miss Same day and Super Urgent, so order earlier in the day.
eVisaVietnam.com is a private visa service operated by TK VIET NAM., JSC, not the Vietnamese government. You can apply yourself at evisa.gov.vn for US$25. If you want your files checked and a delivery time backed by a full refund, apply for your e-visa with us.
