Yes. Israeli citizens with an ordinary passport need a visa for any stay in Vietnam, and the e-visa is the usual route.

Israel's row on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs exemption list (published June 30, 2025, checked October 2026) carries a cross under Diplomatic only, with 90 days. The Official and Ordinary columns are empty, and Israel is absent from the later 45-day lists. Vietnam opened the e-visa to citizens of every country in 2023, which is why Israeli travelers now apply online without visiting an embassy. For the general rules, see Do I need a visa for Vietnam?

Vietnam visa for Israeli citizens: urgent cut-offs in Tel Aviv time

Standard takes 5 to 7 working days. The urgent speeds use Vietnamese working days, which start at 8:00 in Vietnam: 4:00 in Tel Aviv during summer time and 3:00 in winter. Israel keeps summer time from the Friday before the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October, which this year is October 25.

Order cut-off Tel Aviv, winter Tel Aviv, summer time
Same day (Vietnam 14:15) 9:15 10:15
Super Urgent (Vietnam 15:30) 10:30 11:30
Emergency (Vietnam 17:30) 12:30 13:30
1 working day (Vietnam 18:00) 13:00 14:00

Example in summer time: you order on Tuesday at 5:00 in Tel Aviv, which is 9:00 on Tuesday in Vietnam. Emergency arrives by 6:30, Super Urgent by 7:30 and Same day by 14:00, all in Tel Aviv time. Ordered on Tuesday at 12:00 instead (16:00 in Vietnam), Emergency still arrives by 13:30, but Super Urgent and Same day have passed their cut-offs: Super Urgent arrives on Wednesday at 7:00 and Same day on Wednesday at 10:00.

The weekend window starts at Friday 14:00 in Tel Aviv in summer time (13:00 in winter) and ends on Sunday at 12:00 (11:00). In that window, order the Weekend and public holidays speed before 11:20 in summer time and it arrives by 14:30 the same day. Our urgent e-visa page has every speed in Vietnam time.

Vietnam visa requirements for Israeli citizens

The Vietnam visa requirements for Israeli citizens match those for every e-visa applicant:

  • Israeli passport: Valid for at least 6 months from your entry date, with two blank pages.
  • Passport data page: Full page in the frame, no glare on the code lines at the bottom.
  • Portrait: Recent, facing forward, white background, no glasses.
  • Trip details: Arrival and departure dates, entry and exit gates, first accommodation address.
  • Card: Debit or credit card that works for overseas online payments.

Photo examples and the full checklist are on our e-visa requirements page.

Visa on arrival for Israeli citizens

Israeli citizens can use visa on arrival only when flying into Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang or Cam Ranh. You need an approval letter before you board and pay a $25 or $50 stamping fee at the airport.

It does not work for cruise ports or land borders. For most trips the e-visa is simpler; you can compare both when you choose a service.

Vietnam embassy in Israel

Vietnam has an embassy in Israel, but you do not need it for an e-visa, which is issued online. The Embassy of Vietnam in Tel Aviv is on the 13th floor of Beit Amot Mishpat, 8 Sderot Sha'ul HaMelech. Our page on the Vietnam embassy in Israel has the details.

Tips for Israeli travelers

Two points help Israeli travelers: reading the exemption list correctly, and counting Israel's summer time.

Diplomatic passports are different

The 90-day stay on Israel's row of the exemption list belongs to diplomatic passports only. A holder of an ordinary Israeli passport needs the e-visa, even if a colleague with a diplomatic passport enters without one.

Israel's clocks change, Vietnam's do not

Israel moves its clocks back in late October, so every Vietnamese cut-off shifts one hour later on your clock. The table above shows both columns; use the summer time column until October 25 and the winter column after that.

eVisaVietnam.com is a private visa service operated by TK VIET NAM., JSC, not the Vietnamese government. You can apply yourself at evisa.gov.vn for US$25. If you want your files checked and a delivery time backed by a full refund, apply for your e-visa with us.
