Vietnam Visa for Kazakh Citizens: 30 Days Per Entry, Then the E-Visa
Vietnam visa for Kazakh citizens: no visa for 30 days or less. Longer trips need the e-visa, from $47 (approx. KZT 21,141). Kazakhstani tenge prices.
Kazakh citizens with an ordinary passport do not need a visa for a stay of 30 days or less, so the Vietnam visa for Kazakh citizens only matters when you plan to stay longer. Then the standard route is the e-visa, valid for up to 90 days and from $47 (approx. KZT 21,141) all-in through us for single entry. This page covers the 30-day rule, when an e-visa is needed, prices in Kazakhstani tenge, urgent cut-offs in Astana time, the steps, documents, visa on arrival and the embassy. You can apply for your e-visa with us in about ten minutes.
Astana is two hours behind Vietnam all year, so the Vietnamese cut-offs fall two hours earlier on your clock. For a short trip no visa is needed; for a longer one, the cut-off table below shows which speed is still open.

Do Kazakh citizens need a visa for Vietnam?
No, not for 30 days per entry. Kazakh citizens with an ordinary passport can enter Vietnam without a visa for a stay of up to 30 days each time, with a total of no more than 90 days in any 180-day period, under an agreement in force since May 25, 2024.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs list published on June 30, 2025 shows Kazakhstan under ordinary passports. You still need a valid passport and a ticket out. Our page on Vietnam visa exemption rules lists every country covered.
How the 30-day exemption works
The rule is a bilateral agreement signed in Hanoi on August 21, 2023. QazMonitor reported the terms: ordinary passports valid for at least six months, with entry, exit, transit and temporary stay covered. The cap of 90 days in each 180-day period is the part most guides leave out.
When Kazakh citizens need a visa for Vietnam
Whether travelers from Kazakhstan need a visa depends on the length and purpose of the stay: they need a Vietnam e-visa for any single stay longer than 30 days, and for any plan that would use more than 90 days in 180.
Apply before you fly: the e-visa lets you stay up to 90 days, with single or multiple entry, under Law 23/2023/QH15.
Typical cases are a long working holiday, a family visit that runs on, or a series of trips whose days add up to more than 90 in six months. A 90-day e-visa costs no more than a 30-day one through us.

Urgent cut-offs in Astana time
Standard takes 5 to 7 working days. The urgent speeds use Vietnamese working days, which start at 8:00 in Vietnam, or 6:00 in Astana.
| Order cut-off | Astana time |
|---|---|
| Same day (Vietnam 14:15) | 12:15 |
| Super Urgent (Vietnam 15:30) | 13:30 |
| Emergency (Vietnam 17:30) | 15:30 |
| 1 working day (Vietnam 18:00) | 16:00 |
Example: you order on Tuesday at 7:00 in Astana, which is 9:00 on Tuesday in Vietnam. Emergency arrives by 8:30, Super Urgent by 9:30 and Same day by 16:00, all in Astana time. Ordered on Tuesday at 14:00 instead (16:00 in Vietnam), Emergency still arrives by 15:30, but Super Urgent and Same day have passed their cut-offs: Super Urgent arrives on Wednesday at 9:00 and Same day on Wednesday at 12:00.
The weekend window starts at Friday 16:00 in Astana and ends on Sunday at 14:00. In that window, order the Weekend and public holidays speed before 13:20 and it arrives by 16:30 the same day. Our urgent e-visa page has every speed in Vietnam time.

Vietnam visa on arrival for Kazakh citizens
Kazakh citizens have little reason to use visa on arrival: a stay of 30 days or less needs no visa, and a longer one is simpler with an e-visa.
Visa on arrival works only at Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Cam Ranh, with an approval letter obtained before you board and a $25 or $50 stamping fee at the airport. If you want to compare the options, you can choose a service.
Vietnam embassy in Kazakhstan
You do not need an embassy for an e-visa, which is issued online. For consular help, check the list of Vietnamese missions on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website (mofa.gov.vn) for the one that covers Kazakhstan. Our page on the Vietnam embassy in Kazakhstan collects the details.
Tips for Kazakh travelers
Two points help Kazakh travelers: the 90-in-180 cap, and the difference from Uzbekistan.
The 90-in-180 cap
Each entry gives 30 days, but the total is capped at 90 days in any 180-day period. Three full stays of 30 days use the whole cap, so a fourth visit within the same 180 days needs an e-visa.
Uzbekistan next door has no such rule
Kazakh citizens are exempt, but travelers from Uzbekistan are not: an Uzbek ordinary passport needs the e-visa. Our page for Uzbekistan shows the difference if you travel with companions from there.
eVisaVietnam.com is a private visa service operated by TK VIET NAM., JSC, not the Vietnamese government. You can apply yourself at evisa.gov.vn for US$25. If you want your files checked and a delivery time backed by a full refund, apply for your e-visa with us.
