How to apply Vietnam evisa

Palauan citizens with an ordinary passport need a visa for Vietnam, so the Vietnam visa for Palauan citizens is the e-visa, valid for up to 90 days and from $47 all-in through us for single entry. Palau is on none of Vietnam's exemption lists, so a Palauan passport gets no visa-free stay. This page covers the e-visa, prices (already in your own currency), urgent cut-offs in Ngerulmud time, the steps, documents, visa on arrival and the embassy. You can apply for your e-visa with us in about ten minutes.

Ngerulmud is two hours ahead of Vietnam all year, so the Vietnamese working day starts at 10:00 on your clock and Same day closes at 16:15. The cut-off table below shows which speed is still open when you order.

Do Palauan citizens need a visa for Vietnam?

Yes. Palauan citizens with an ordinary passport need a visa for any stay in Vietnam, and the e-visa is the usual route.

Palau is not on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs exemption list (published June 30, 2025, checked October 2026), and it is not among the 12 countries added to the 45-day list by Resolution 229/NQ-CP, in force from August 15, 2025.

One lookup page says Palauans can stay 90 days without a visa, and another says only that an electronic authorization is needed; the Ministry's table shows no exemption. For the general rules, see Do I need a visa for Vietnam?

Visa on arrival for Palauan citizens

Palauan citizens can use visa on arrival only when flying into Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang or Cam Ranh. You need an approval letter before you board and pay a $25 or $50 stamping fee at the airport.

It does not work for cruise ports or land borders. For most trips the e-visa is simpler; you can compare both when you choose a service.

Vietnam embassy in Palau

You do not need an embassy for an e-visa, which is issued online. For consular help, check the list of Vietnamese missions on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website (mofa.gov.vn) for the one that covers Palau.

Tips for Palauan travelers

Two points help Palauan travelers: the US link that stops at the border, and ordering before your evening.

Freedom to enter the US does not carry over

Palauans can live and work in the United States under the Compact of Free Association, but that arrangement does not reach Vietnam. Vietnam looks only at the passport you show, and a Palau passport is on none of its exemption lists.

Cut-offs fall in your evening

Because Ngerulmud runs ahead of Vietnam, the urgent cut-offs fall in your afternoon and evening: Same day closes at 16:15 and Emergency at 19:30. An order placed in the evening can miss Same day and Super Urgent, so order earlier in the day.

eVisaVietnam.com is a private visa service operated by TK VIET NAM., JSC, not the Vietnamese government. You can apply yourself at evisa.gov.vn for US$25. If you want your files checked and a delivery time backed by a full refund, apply for your e-visa with us.
