Vietnam Visa for Panamanian Citizens: 90 Days Without a Visa, Then the E-Visa

Vietnam visa for Panamanian citizens: no visa for 90 days or less. Longer trips need the e-visa, from $47, paid in US dollars. Steps and cut-offs.

How to apply Vietnam evisa

Panamanian citizens with an ordinary passport do not need a visa for a stay of 90 days or less, so the Vietnam visa for Panamanian citizens only matters when you plan to stay longer. Then the standard route is the e-visa, valid for up to 90 days and from $47 all-in through us for single entry. This page covers the 90-day rule, when an e-visa is needed, prices (already in your own currency), urgent cut-offs in Panama City time, the steps, documents, visa on arrival and the embassy. You can apply for your e-visa with us in about ten minutes.

Panama City is twelve hours behind Vietnam, so the Vietnamese working day runs from 20:00 the evening before to 6:00 in your morning. For a short trip no visa is needed; for an urgent e-visa, an order placed at night reaches Vietnam as its day begins, and the table below shows why.

Do Panamanian citizens need a visa for Vietnam?

No, not for 90 days or less. Panamanian citizens with an ordinary passport can enter Vietnam without a visa for a stay of up to 90 days, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs list published on June 30, 2025 and checked in October 2026.

You still need a valid passport and a ticket out. Our page on Vietnam visa exemption rules lists every country covered.

How the 90-day exemption works

A Panamanian traveler needs a visa only when the stay goes past 90 days or the purpose is profit-making. The rule is a bilateral agreement that Vietnam announced as in force in Notice 64/2020/TB-LPQT.

According to the agreement's terms as summarized by Vietnamese and secondary sources, citizens with ordinary passports valid for at least six months can enter, transit and stay up to 90 days, as long as the visit is not for profit-making activities.

When Panamanian citizens need a visa for Vietnam

Whether travelers from Panama need a visa depends on the length and purpose of the stay: they need a Vietnam e-visa for any stay longer than 90 days, and for any trip that involves profit-making activity.

Apply before you fly: the e-visa lets you stay up to 90 days, with single or multiple entry, under Law 23/2023/QH15.

Typical cases are a long working holiday, an extended family stay, or a trip that would pass day 90. The e-visa also allows up to 90 days, so for a longer stay ask the embassy about the right visa type. A 90-day e-visa costs no more than a 30-day one through us.

Vietnam visa for Panamanian citizens: e-visa cost in US dollars

A Vietnam e-visa costs $47 through us for single entry at Standard speed, government fee included. The table gives every speed per person, slowest first.

Prices last updated: 2026-10-07. Panama uses the US dollar in daily life, so every price below is already in your currency. Your card is charged in USD.

Speed Single entry Multiple entry
Standard, 5 to 7 working days $47 $82
3 working days $69 $98
2 working days $92 $116
1 working day $99 $123
Same day $118 $150
Super Urgent $169 $212

We refund 100% if the e-visa is refused, unless the application had false information, or if it arrives after the delivery time shown at checkout. On evisa.gov.vn the government fee alone is US$25, not refunded on refusal. Our full price table breaks down each price.

Urgent cut-offs in Panama City time

Standard takes 5 to 7 working days. The urgent speeds use Vietnamese working days, which start at 8:00 in Vietnam, or 20:00 in Panama City.

Order cut-off Panama City time
Same day (Vietnam 14:15) 2:15
Super Urgent (Vietnam 15:30) 3:30
Emergency (Vietnam 17:30) 5:30
1 working day (Vietnam 18:00) 6:00

Example: you order on Monday at 21:00 in Panama City, which is 9:00 on Tuesday in Vietnam. Emergency arrives by 22:30, Super Urgent by 23:30 and Same day by 6:00 on Tuesday, all in Panama City time. Ordered on Tuesday at 4:00 instead (16:00 in Vietnam), Emergency still arrives by 5:30, but Super Urgent and Same day have passed their cut-offs: Super Urgent arrives at 23:00 and Same day on Wednesday at 2:00.

The weekend window starts at Friday 6:00 in Panama City and ends on Sunday at 4:00. In that window, order the Weekend and public holidays speed before 3:20 and it arrives by 6:30 the same day. Our urgent e-visa page has every speed in Vietnam time.

Vietnam visa requirements for Panamanian citizens

For the e-visa, the requirements for Panamanian citizens match those for every applicant:

  • Panamanian passport: Valid for at least 6 months from your entry date, with two blank pages.
  • Passport data page: Full page in the frame, no glare on the code lines at the bottom.
  • Portrait: Recent, facing forward, white background, no glasses.
  • Trip details: Arrival and departure dates, entry and exit gates, first accommodation address.
  • Card: Debit or credit card that works for overseas online payments.

Photo examples and the full checklist are on our e-visa requirements page.

Vietnam visa on arrival for Panamanian citizens

Panamanian citizens have little reason to use visa on arrival: a stay of 90 days or less needs no visa, and a longer one is simpler with an e-visa.

Visa on arrival works only at Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Cam Ranh, with an approval letter obtained before you board and a $25 or $50 stamping fee at the airport. If you want to compare the options, you can choose a service.

Vietnam embassy in Panama

You do not need an embassy for an e-visa, which is issued online. For consular help, check the list of Vietnamese missions on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website (mofa.gov.vn) for the one that covers Panama. Our page on the Vietnam embassy in Panama collects the details.

Tips for Panamanian travelers

Two points help Panamanian travelers: ordering in the evening, and what counts as profit-making.

Order in the evening, not the morning

Ordered at 9:00 in the morning in Panama City, your file reaches Vietnam after every urgent cut-off and starts at 8:00 the next Vietnamese morning, which is 20:00 that evening in Panama City. Ordered at 20:00 instead, every speed is still open.

Profit-making activity is excluded

The 90 days cover visits such as tourism and family trips. Activity that earns money in Vietnam is outside the agreement as summarized, so a work assignment needs a work permit and the matching visa.

eVisaVietnam.com is a private visa service operated by TK VIET NAM., JSC, not the Vietnamese government. You can apply yourself at evisa.gov.vn for US$25. If you want your files checked and a delivery time backed by a full refund, apply for your e-visa with us.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do Panamanian citizens need a visa for Vietnam?

No, for 90 days or less. Panamanian citizens with an ordinary passport can enter without a visa under the rule above. For a longer stay, apply for an e-visa before you travel.

How many days can Panamanians stay in Vietnam without a visa?

Up to 90 days with an ordinary passport valid for at least six months, if the visit is not for profit-making activity. The e-visa is also valid for up to 90 days, so a longer stay needs another visa type.

How much is the Vietnam government fee for Panamanian citizens?

On evisa.gov.vn the government fee is US$25 for single entry and US$50 for multiple entry, charged in US dollars. It is not refunded if the e-visa is refused.

Can I get a Vietnam visa today in Panama City?

Yes, on a Vietnamese working day. Order Same day before 2:15 Panama City time for delivery by 6:00, or Emergency before 5:30 for delivery 1.5 working hours later. On weekends, use the Weekend and public holidays speed.

Can I work in Vietnam on the visa-free stay from Panama?

No. Visa-free entry covers visits, not employment. Working in Vietnam needs a work permit and the matching visa, and the e-visa does not cover it either.
