Vietnam Visa for Filipino Citizens: 21 Days Without a Visa, Then the E-Visa
Vietnam visa for Filipino citizens: no visa for 21 days or less. Longer trips need the e-visa, from $47 (approx. PHP 2,956). Philippine pesos prices.
Filipino citizens with an ordinary passport do not need a visa for a stay of 21 days or less, so the Vietnam visa for Filipino citizens only matters when you plan to stay longer. Then the standard route is the e-visa, valid for up to 90 days and from $47 (approx. PHP 2,956) all-in through us for single entry. This page covers the 21-day rule, when an e-visa is needed, prices in Philippine pesos, urgent cut-offs in Manila time, the steps, documents, visa on arrival and the embassy. You can apply for your e-visa with us in about ten minutes.
Manila is one hour ahead of Vietnam all year, so the Vietnamese working day starts at 9:00 on your clock. If you are checking whether a visa is needed for a short trip, the answer is no; for a longer one, the cut-off table below shows which speed is still open.

Do Filipino citizens need a visa for Vietnam?
No, not for 21 days or less. Filipino citizens with an ordinary passport can enter Vietnam without a visa for a stay of up to 21 days, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs list published on June 30, 2025 and checked in October 2026.
You still need a valid passport and a ticket out. Our page on Vietnam visa exemption rules lists every country covered.
How the 21-day exemption works
A Filipino traveler needs a visa only when the stay goes past 21 days. The rule is a bilateral agreement, and a Vietnamese embassy table lists the Philippines at 21 days for ordinary passports, from April 1, 2000.
The sources do not say how the days are counted, so plan conservatively. Guides add that officers check for a passport valid for six months and an onward ticket.
When Filipino citizens need a visa for Vietnam
Whether travelers from the Philippines need a visa depends on the length and purpose of the stay: they need a Vietnam e-visa for any stay longer than 21 days.
Apply before you fly: the e-visa lets you stay up to 90 days, with single or multiple entry, under Law 23/2023/QH15.
Typical cases are a three-week holiday that grows by a few days, a family visit, or a trip that combines Vietnam with a longer overland route. A 90-day e-visa costs no more than a 30-day one through us.

Urgent cut-offs in Manila time
Standard takes 5 to 7 working days. The urgent speeds use Vietnamese working days, which start at 8:00 in Vietnam, or 9:00 in Manila.
| Order cut-off | Manila time |
|---|---|
| Same day (Vietnam 14:15) | 15:15 |
| Super Urgent (Vietnam 15:30) | 16:30 |
| Emergency (Vietnam 17:30) | 18:30 |
| 1 working day (Vietnam 18:00) | 19:00 |
Example: you order on Tuesday at 10:00 in Manila, which is 9:00 on Tuesday in Vietnam. Emergency arrives by 11:30, Super Urgent by 12:30 and Same day by 19:00, all in Manila time. Ordered on Tuesday at 17:00 instead (16:00 in Vietnam), Emergency still arrives by 18:30, but Super Urgent and Same day have passed their cut-offs: Super Urgent arrives on Wednesday at 12:00 and Same day on Wednesday at 15:00.
The weekend window starts at Friday 19:00 in Manila and ends on Sunday at 17:00. In that window, order the Weekend and public holidays speed before 16:20 and it arrives by 19:30 the same day. Our urgent e-visa page has every speed in Vietnam time.

Vietnam visa requirements for Filipino citizens

- Portrait: Recent, facing forward, white background, no glasses.

Photo examples and the full checklist are on our e-visa requirements page.
Vietnam visa on arrival for Filipino citizens
Filipino citizens have little reason to use visa on arrival: a stay of 21 days or less needs no visa, and a longer one is simpler with an e-visa.
Visa on arrival works only at Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Cam Ranh, with an approval letter obtained before you board and a $25 or $50 stamping fee at the airport. If you want to compare the options, you can choose a service.
Vietnam embassy in the Philippines
Vietnam has an embassy in the Philippines, but you do not need it for an e-visa, which is issued online, or for a stay of 21 days or less. Our page on the Vietnam embassy in the Philippines has the details.
Tips for Filipino travelers
Two points help Filipino travelers: the 21-day limit, and the one-hour gap.
Twenty-one days, not thirty
Most other ASEAN neighbors get 30 days, so a plan copied from a friend with a Thai or Singaporean passport can run nine days too long. Count from the day you enter, and apply for the e-visa if the trip passes day 21.
Cut-offs run one hour later than Vietnam's
Manila is one hour ahead, so each Vietnamese cut-off falls one hour later on your clock: Same day closes at 15:15 and Emergency at 18:30. An order placed after the office day misses Same day and Super Urgent.
eVisaVietnam.com is a private visa service operated by TK VIET NAM., JSC, not the Vietnamese government. You can apply yourself at evisa.gov.vn for US$25. If you want your files checked and a delivery time backed by a full refund, apply for your e-visa with us.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do Filipino citizens need a visa for Vietnam?
No, for 21 days or less. Filipino citizens with an ordinary passport can enter without a visa under the rule above. For a longer stay, apply for an e-visa before you travel.
How many days can Filipinos stay in Vietnam without a visa?
Up to 21 days with an ordinary passport. After day 21 you need an e-visa, which allows up to 90 days.
How much is the Vietnam government fee in Philippine pesos?
On evisa.gov.vn the government fee is US$25 (approx. PHP 1,572) for single entry and US$50 (approx. PHP 3,144) for multiple entry, charged in US dollars. It is not refunded if the e-visa is refused.
Can I get a Vietnam visa today in Manila?
Yes, on a Vietnamese working day. Order Same day before 15:15 Manila time for delivery by 19:00, or Emergency before 18:30 for delivery 1.5 working hours later. On weekends, use the Weekend and public holidays speed.
Can I work in Vietnam on the visa-free stay from the Philippines?
No. Visa-free entry covers visits, not employment. Working in Vietnam needs a work permit and the matching visa, and the e-visa does not cover it either.
