Do Saudi citizens need a visa for Vietnam?
Yes. Saudi citizens with an ordinary passport need a visa for any stay in Vietnam, and the e-visa is the usual route.
Saudi Arabia is not on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs exemption list (published June 30, 2025, checked October 2026), and it is not among the 12 countries added to the 45-day list by Resolution 229/NQ-CP, in force from August 15, 2025.

A visa for Vietnam from Saudi Arabia is nearly always the e-visa. It lets Saudi citizens stay up to 90 days, with single or multiple entry, under Law 23/2023/QH15. It covers holidays, family visits and short business trips.

Saudi citizens can use visa on arrival only when flying into Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang or Cam Ranh. You need an approval letter before you board and pay a $25 or $50 stamping fee at the airport.

The Saudi riyal is pegged to the US dollar at 3.75, so you can check any price in your head: the government fee of US$25 is SAR 94 and US$50 is SAR 188. Your card is charged in USD, and your bank may add its own conversion fee.
Four hours is a short gap
An order placed at 8:00 in Riyadh reaches Vietnam at noon, in the middle of its working day. The Same day cut-off falls at 10:15 in Riyadh and the Emergency cut-off at 13:30, so a morning order keeps every speed open.
