Vietnam Visa for Singaporean Citizens: 30 Days Without a Visa, Then the E-Visa

Vietnam visa for Singaporean citizens: no visa for 30 days or less. Longer trips need the e-visa, from $47 (approx. S$60). Singapore dollars prices.

How to apply Vietnam evisa

Singaporean citizens with an ordinary passport do not need a visa for a stay of 30 days or less, so the Vietnam visa for Singaporean citizens only matters when you plan to stay longer. Then the standard route is the e-visa, valid for up to 90 days and from $47 (approx. S$60) all-in through us for single entry. This page covers the 30-day rule, when an e-visa is needed, prices in Singapore dollars, urgent cut-offs in Singapore time, the steps, documents, visa on arrival and the embassy. You can apply for your e-visa with us in about ten minutes.

Singapore is one hour ahead of Vietnam all year, so the Vietnamese working day starts at 9:00 on your clock. If you are checking whether a visa is needed for a short trip, the answer is no; for a longer one, the cut-off table below shows which speed is still open.

Do Singaporean citizens need a visa for Vietnam?

No, not for 30 days or less. Singaporean citizens with an ordinary passport can enter Vietnam without a visa for a stay of up to 30 days, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs list published on June 30, 2025 and checked in October 2026.

You still need a valid passport and a ticket out. Our page on Vietnam visa exemption rules lists every country covered.

How the 30-day exemption works

A Singaporean traveler needs a visa only when the stay goes past 30 days. The rule is a bilateral agreement, and the 30-day figure has been stable across Vietnamese lists for years.

Guides differ on documents: one government-linked source mentions a return ticket and funds for the stay, while another says no extra documents are needed. Carry the return ticket anyway, because airlines ask for it at check-in.

When Singaporean citizens need a visa for Vietnam

Whether travelers from Singapore need a visa depends on the length and purpose of the stay: they need a Vietnam e-visa for any stay longer than 30 days.

Apply before you fly: the e-visa lets you stay up to 90 days, with single or multiple entry, under Law 23/2023/QH15.

Typical cases are a long working holiday, a family visit, a stretch of remote work from Da Nang, or a trip that combines Vietnam with a longer route through the region. A 90-day e-visa costs no more than a 30-day one through us.

Urgent cut-offs in Singapore time

Standard takes 5 to 7 working days. The urgent speeds use Vietnamese working days, which start at 8:00 in Vietnam, or 9:00 in Singapore.

Order cut-off Singapore time
Same day (Vietnam 14:15) 15:15
Super Urgent (Vietnam 15:30) 16:30
Emergency (Vietnam 17:30) 18:30
1 working day (Vietnam 18:00) 19:00

Example: you order on Tuesday at 10:00 in Singapore, which is 9:00 on Tuesday in Vietnam. Emergency arrives by 11:30, Super Urgent by 12:30 and Same day by 19:00, all in Singapore time. Ordered on Tuesday at 17:00 instead (16:00 in Vietnam), Emergency still arrives by 18:30, but Super Urgent and Same day have passed their cut-offs: Super Urgent arrives on Wednesday at 12:00 and Same day on Wednesday at 15:00.

The weekend window starts at Friday 19:00 in Singapore and ends on Sunday at 17:00. In that window, order the Weekend and public holidays speed before 16:20 and it arrives by 19:30 the same day. Our urgent e-visa page has every speed in Vietnam time.

Vietnam visa requirements for Singaporean citizens

For the e-visa, the requirements for Singaporean citizens match those for every applicant:

  • Singaporean passport: Valid for at least 6 months from your entry date, with two blank pages.
  • Passport data page: Full page in the frame, no glare on the code lines at the bottom.
  • Portrait: Recent, facing forward, white background, no glasses.
  • Trip details: Arrival and departure dates, entry and exit gates, first accommodation address.
  • Card: Debit or credit card that works for overseas online payments.

Photo examples and the full checklist are on our e-visa requirements page.

Vietnam visa on arrival for Singaporean citizens

Singaporean citizens have little reason to use visa on arrival: a stay of 30 days or less needs no visa, and a longer one is simpler with an e-visa.

Visa on arrival works only at Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Cam Ranh, with an approval letter obtained before you board and a $25 or $50 stamping fee at the airport. If you want to compare the options, you can choose a service.

Vietnam embassy in Singapore

Vietnam has an embassy in Singapore, but you do not need it for an e-visa, which is issued online, or for a stay of 30 days or less. Our page on the Vietnam embassy in Singapore has the details.

Tips for Singaporean travelers

Two points help Singaporean travelers: day 31, and the one-hour gap.

Day 31 needs a visa

The exemption ends at day 30, so a 31-day trip needs an e-visa before you fly. It is valid for up to 90 days and costs the same for 31 days as for 90.

Cut-offs run one hour later than Vietnam's

Singapore is one hour ahead, so each Vietnamese cut-off falls one hour later on your clock: Same day closes at 15:15 and Emergency at 18:30. An order placed after the office day misses Same day and Super Urgent.

eVisaVietnam.com is a private visa service operated by TK VIET NAM., JSC, not the Vietnamese government. You can apply yourself at evisa.gov.vn for US$25. If you want your files checked and a delivery time backed by a full refund, apply for your e-visa with us.

Frequently Asked Questions

No, for 30 days or less. Singaporean citizens with an ordinary passport can enter without a visa under the rule above. For a longer stay, apply for an e-visa before you travel.

How many days can Singaporeans stay in Vietnam without a visa?

Up to 30 days with an ordinary passport valid for at least six months. After day 30 you need an e-visa, which allows up to 90 days.

How much is the Vietnam government fee in Singapore dollars?

On evisa.gov.vn the government fee is US$25 (approx. S$32) for single entry and US$50 (approx. S$64) for multiple entry, charged in US dollars. It is not refunded if the e-visa is refused.

Can I get a Vietnam visa today in Singapore?

Yes, on a Vietnamese working day. Order Same day before 15:15 Singapore time for delivery by 19:00, or Emergency before 18:30 for delivery 1.5 working hours later. On weekends, use the Weekend and public holidays speed.
