Visa on arrival for Taiwanese citizens
Taiwanese citizens can use visa on arrival only when flying into Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang or Cam Ranh. You need an approval letter before you board and pay a $25 or $50 stamping fee at the airport.
It does not work for cruise ports or land borders. For most trips the e-visa is simpler; you can compare both when you choose a service.
Vietnam embassy in Taiwan
You do not need an embassy for an e-visa, which is issued online. Vietnam is represented in Taipei by the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office; check mofa.gov.vn for its current address and hours.
Tips for Taiwanese travelers
Two points help Taiwanese travelers: the one-hour gap, and the NT$ figures.
Cut-offs run one hour later than Vietnam's
Taipei is only one hour ahead, so each Vietnamese cut-off falls one hour later on your clock: Same day closes at 15:15 and Emergency at 18:30. An order placed after the office day misses Same day and Super Urgent.
Enter your passport details as printed
The form asks for your name, passport number and dates exactly as they appear in the passport. A mismatch is the most common reason an e-visa is refused, and it is cheaper to check before you pay.
eVisaVietnam.com is a private visa service operated by TK VIET NAM., JSC, not the Vietnamese government. You can apply yourself at evisa.gov.vn for US$25. If you want your files checked and a delivery time backed by a full refund, apply for your e-visa with us.
