Vietnam Visa for Bahamian Citizens: E-Visa Cost in Bahamian Dollars and Steps
Vietnam visa for bahamian citizens: you need a visa, usually the 90-day e-visa from $47, the same number in Bahamian dollars. Nassau cut-offs and steps.
Bahamian citizens with an ordinary passport need a visa for Vietnam, so the Vietnam visa for Bahamian citizens is the e-visa, valid for up to 90 days and from $47 all-in through us for single entry. The Bahamas is on none of Vietnam's exemption lists, so a Bahamian passport gets no visa-free stay. This page covers the e-visa, prices (the same in Bahamian dollars), urgent cut-offs in Nassau time, the steps, documents, visa on arrival and the embassy. You can apply for your e-visa with us in about ten minutes.
Nassau is eleven or twelve hours behind Vietnam, so Vietnam's working day runs from your evening to your early morning. An order placed at night in Nassau reaches Vietnam as its day begins, and the table below shows why.

Do Bahamian citizens need a visa for Vietnam?
Yes. Bahamian citizens with an ordinary passport need a visa for any stay in Vietnam, and the e-visa is the usual route.
The Bahamas is not on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs exemption list (published June 30, 2025, checked October 2026), and it is not among the 12 countries added to the 45-day list by Resolution 229/NQ-CP, in force from August 15, 2025.
One lookup page claims Bahamians enter visa-free for 90 days while also offering the e-visa on the same page; the Ministry's table shows no such exemption. For the general rules, see Do I need a visa for Vietnam?
Visa for Vietnam from the Bahamas: the e-visa
A visa for Vietnam from the Bahamas is nearly always the e-visa. It lets Bahamian citizens stay up to 90 days, with single or multiple entry, under Law 23/2023/QH15. It covers holidays, family visits and short business trips.
The Vietnam e-visa for Bahamian passport holders works at any of 79 border gates: 15 international airports, 26 land border gates and 38 seaports (as of October 2026). You apply online from the Caribbean, so there is no trip to a consulate, and you carry the approved PDF with your passport.

A Vietnam e-visa costs $47 through us for single entry at Standard speed, government fee included. The table gives every speed per person, slowest first.
Prices last updated: 2026-10-07. The Bahamian dollar is pegged one to one to the US dollar (1 USD = 1.00 BSD, xe.com, October 10, 2026), so every price below is the same number in Bahamian dollars. Your card is charged in USD.

On evisa.gov.vn the government fee alone is US$25, not refunded on refusal. Our full price table breaks down each price.
Vietnam visa for Bahamian citizens: urgent cut-offs in Nassau time
Standard takes 5 to 7 working days. The urgent speeds use Vietnamese working days, which start at 8:00 in Vietnam: 21:00 in Nassau during daylight saving time and 20:00 in winter. The Bahamas follows US Eastern Time, with daylight saving time from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November.
| Order cut-off | Nassau, standard time | Nassau, daylight saving time |
|---|---|---|
| Same day (Vietnam 14:15) | 2:15 | 3:15 |
| Super Urgent (Vietnam 15:30) | 3:30 | 4:30 |
| Emergency (Vietnam 17:30) | 5:30 | 6:30 |
| 1 working day (Vietnam 18:00) | 6:00 | 7:00 |
Example in daylight saving time: you order on Monday at 22:00 in Nassau, which is 9:00 on Tuesday in Vietnam. Emergency arrives by 23:30, Super Urgent by 0:30 on Tuesday and Same day by 7:00 on Tuesday, all in Nassau time. Ordered on Tuesday at 5:00 instead (16:00 in Vietnam), Emergency still arrives by 6:30, but Super Urgent and Same day have passed their cut-offs: Super Urgent arrives on Wednesday at 0:00 and Same day on Wednesday at 3:00.
The weekend window starts at Friday 7:00 in Nassau in daylight saving time (6:00 in standard time) and ends on Sunday at 5:00 (4:00). In that window, order the Weekend and public holidays speed before 4:20 in daylight saving time and it arrives by 7:30 the same day. Our urgent e-visa page has every speed in Vietnam time.

Visa on arrival for Bahamian citizens
Bahamian citizens can use visa on arrival only when flying into Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang or Cam Ranh. You need an approval letter before you board and pay a $25 or $50 stamping fee at the airport.
It does not work for cruise ports or land borders. For most trips the e-visa is simpler; you can compare both when you choose a service.
Vietnam embassy in the Bahamas
You do not need an embassy for an e-visa, which is issued online. Check the list of Vietnamese missions on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website (mofa.gov.vn) for the one that covers the Bahamas if you need consular help.
Tips for Bahamian travelers
Two points help Bahamian travelers: ordering at the right hour, and trusting the Ministry's table over lookup pages.
Order in the evening, not the morning
Ordered at 9:00 in the morning in Nassau during daylight saving time, your file reaches Vietnam at 20:00, after every urgent cut-off, and it starts at 8:00 the next Vietnamese morning, which is 21:00 that evening in Nassau. Ordered at 21:00 instead, every speed is still open.
Check any site that says visa-free
Some lookup sites say Bahamian passport holders can stay 90 days without a visa. That conflicts with the Ministry's list above. Check the Ministry's table again and look for the Bahamas: it is not on it.
eVisaVietnam.com is a private visa service operated by TK VIET NAM., JSC, not the Vietnamese government. You can apply yourself at evisa.gov.vn for US$25. If you want your files checked and a delivery time backed by a full refund, apply for your e-visa with us.
