Can you get a Vietnam visa on weekend days?

Yes. A Vietnam e-visa can be ordered on Saturday and Sunday through the Weekend and public holidays speed. The e-visa is the same one as on a weekday, with the same validity and entry rules; only the speed and price differ.

The slower speeds count Vietnamese working days, so Standard, 3 working days and 2 working days do not move on a weekend. If you need the e-visa before Monday, this is the speed to choose. You can apply for your e-visa from any time zone.

How to get a Vietnam visa on weekend days: the window

Our weekend window runs from Friday 18:00 to Sunday 16:00 Vietnam time (GMT+7). Inside it, order before 15:20 and the e-visa is delivered by 18:30 the same day. An order placed from 15:20 is delivered by 18:30 the next day.

The table converts the window to local time. Friday 18:00 in Vietnam is the start, Sunday 16:00 is the end.

The same-day cut-off and delivery refer to an order placed inside the window. Daylight saving time runs in the United States from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November, in the United Kingdom from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October, and in Sydney from the first Sunday in October to the first Sunday in April. For prices, see our full price table.

Example: it is Saturday 10:00 in London during British Summer Time, which is 16:00 in Vietnam. The cut-off in Vietnam time is 15:20, so the order is past it, and the e-visa arrives by 18:30 on Sunday, 12:30 in London. Ordered at 9:00 in London, which is 15:00 in Vietnam, it arrives by 12:30 the same day.

Vietnam visa on a public holiday

A Vietnamese public holiday works like a weekend for your order. The speed is the same Weekend and public holidays option, at the same price, and the same 15:20 cut-off applies. If a holiday falls on a weekday, working-day speeds do not run that day.

Public holidays fall under Article 112 of the Labor Code (Law 45/2019/QH14), as of October 2026. It gives one day for the Gregorian New Year, five days for Tet, one day each for April 30 and May 1, two days for National Day and one day for Hung Kings Commemoration Day. The Prime Minister sets the exact days for Tet and Hung Kings each year.

Vietnam holiday schedule 2026 and 2027

The next fixed public holiday after October 8, 2026 is January 1, 2027, a Friday. The Tet dates for 2027 are not yet confirmed. The table separates what is fixed from what is only proposed.

Tet and your Vietnam visa

For a trip around Tet, order your e-visa before the holiday begins if you can. Standard, 3 working days and 2 working days count Vietnamese working days, so a long closure adds days to them. The Weekend and public holidays speed still runs on the holiday itself.

If you applied yourself and the status is stuck, you can expedite a pending e-visa. If you are already at the airport without a visa, use our denied boarding checklist.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get a Vietnam e-visa on Saturday or Sunday?

Use the table above. For example, 8:20 in London during GMT, or 19:20 in Sydney during daylight saving time, both for orders inside the weekend window.
