How to apply Vietnam evisa

How to apply for Vietnam visa from Albania is done online: Albanian citizens apply for the e-visa, valid for up to 90 days, pay by card, upload a passport page and a photo, and receive a PDF by email. Albania appears on a Vietnamese exemption list only for diplomatic and official passports, so a regular passport follows the same online route. This page covers the steps, what to prepare, timing in Tirana time, paying from Albania and the mistakes Albanian applicants make. For prices in lek and the full cut-off table, see our guide to the Vietnam visa for Albanian citizens. When you are ready, you can apply for your e-visa.

What to prepare in Albania

A Vietnam e-visa application from Albania needs four things ready:

  • An Albanian passport: Valid for at least 6 months from your entry date, with two blank pages.
  • A data page image: The page with your photo, all four corners in view, and the two code lines at the bottom sharp, without glare.
  • A portrait photo: Recent, facing the camera, white background, no glasses. The photo requirements guide shows examples that pass and fail.
  • A card and an emergency contact: A card enabled for online payments to a foreign merchant, and the name, address and phone of a contact at home.

Copy your name from the two code lines at the bottom of the data page, in capital letters, including middle names. The form also asks for the address of your first night in Vietnam.

When to apply from Albania

Apply at least two weeks before you fly if you choose Standard, because 5 to 7 working days can stretch over weekends and Vietnamese public holidays. Tirana is 5 to 6 hours behind Vietnam. Tirana changes its clocks, so the gap shifts by an hour twice a year.

Your time in Tirana Vietnam time
8:00, summer time 13:00
8:00, winter time 14:00
12:00, summer time 17:00
12:00, winter time 18:00
18:00, summer time 23:00
18:00, winter time 0:00 the next day
22:00, summer time 3:00 the next day
22:00, winter time 4:00 the next day

For Same day delivery, order between 3:00 and 9:15 in Tirana in summer time (2:00 and 8:15 in winter), on a day that is a working day in Vietnam. By early afternoon in Tirana the Vietnamese working day is nearly over, so place an urgent order in the morning. Our guide for Albanian citizens has the full table of cut-offs, and the urgent e-visa page covers every speed.

Paying for your e-visa from Albania

You pay in US dollars by credit or debit card. A Standard single-entry e-visa costs $47, about 3,847 lek, government fee included.

Figures use 1 USD = 81.86 ALL (xe.com, October 10, 2026). Your statement will show lek, converted by your bank, and a card that adds a foreign-currency fee raises the total slightly. See the full price table for every speed.

On evisa.gov.vn the government fee alone is US$25 (approx. 2,046 lek). If a payment fails, check that your card allows online payments to foreign merchants and retry, rather than starting a second application.

Mistakes Albanian applicants make

The first two points below are specific to Albanian applicants; the last two apply to everyone.

  • Trusting a visa-free claim: Some lookup sites say Albanians enter without a visa. The Ministry's exemption list covers diplomatic and official passports only, so an ordinary passport needs the e-visa.
  • Ordering after lunch: An urgent order placed in the afternoon in Tirana misses the Vietnamese cut-offs and waits for the next working morning.
  • A look-alike website: The government site is evisa.gov.vn. Private services, including ours, say that they are private; leave any site that does not say who runs it.
  • A gate you will not use: Choose the airport or border gate you will really enter through, and check the ports of entry list.

If you already filed a faulty application, read about e-visa problems first. Ready? Apply for your e-visa and a person checks your files before they go in.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I apply for a Vietnam visa online from Albania?

Yes. Albanian citizens with an ordinary passport apply online for the e-visa, valid for up to 90 days, pay by card and receive a PDF by email.

How early should I apply from Albania?

At least two weeks before you fly at Standard speed. If your flight is closer, choose a faster speed and check the cut-offs in Tirana time on our guide for Albanian citizens.

Which card works for the e-visa fee?

A debit or credit card enabled for online payments to a foreign merchant. Cards issued in Albania work if the issuer allows online payments abroad. Your bank converts the US dollar charge into lek.

Are Albanian citizens visa-exempt for Vietnam?

Not with an ordinary passport. Albania is on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs list only for diplomatic and official passports, so regular passport holders apply for the e-visa.

Do I need the Vietnam embassy for the e-visa?

No. The e-visa is applied for online and issued as a PDF. Vietnam's ambassador to Greece also covers Albania, according to VietnamPlus in October 2025, so a sticker visa would mean dealing with a mission outside your country. Our page on the Vietnam embassy in Greece has the details.
