Which Vietnam visa ports of entry accept the e-visa?
The Vietnam e-visa is accepted at 79 border gates: 15 international airports, 26 land border gates and 38 seaports (as of October 2026). You pick your entry gate and your exit gate on the application form, and each menu lists these gates.
Choose both gates from the menu. The list changes when the government adds or removes gates, so check the menu on evisa.gov.vn before you travel. Visa on arrival is different: it works only at four airports, as our visa on arrival page explains.
International airports
Fifteen airports are on the list, written as the form shows them. A few carry a different label, such as "Chu Lai Airport Border Gate".

|---|---|
| Noi Bai International Airport (Ha Noi) | Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City) |
| Cat Bi International Airport (Hai Phong) | Lien Khuong Airport (Lam Dong) |

Land border gates by neighboring country
There are 26 land border gates, and they sit on three borders: Cambodia, Laos and China. The table groups them by the country on the other side. The names are as the form shows them.
| Border | Land border gates on the form |
|---|---|
| Cambodia (10) | Ha Tien Landport, Moc Bai Landport, Tinh Bien Landport, Xa Mat Landport, Vinh Xuong Landport, Binh Hiep Landport, Tan Nam Landport, Thuong Phuoc Landport, Dinh Ba Landport, Le Thanh Landport |
| Laos (10) | Bo Y Landport, Cha Lo Landport, Cau Treo Landport, Lao Bao Landport, La Lay Landport, Nam Can Landport, Na Meo Landport, Tay Trang Landport, Long Sap Landport, Nam Giang Landport |
| China (6) | Huu Nghi Landport, Lao Cai Landport, Mong Cai Landport, Dong Dang Landport, Tra Linh Landport, Thanh Thuy Landport |
The Cambodia Vietnam border is where most overland travelers cross, usually at Moc Bai on the road from Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh City. With an e-visa, a Vietnam Cambodia border crossing works at any of the Cambodian gates in the table. Visa on arrival does not, because it works at airports only.
Choose the gate you will actually use, because the visa lists it. Border crossings can have limits on hours or on who may cross, so check the gate with the transport company before you buy tickets.
Seaports and cruise ships
The list has 38 seaports, from Quang Ninh in the north to the Mekong Delta in the south. Names are as the form shows them.
| Seaport as shown on the form | Seaport as shown on the form |
|---|---|
| Chan May Seaport (Hue) | Hon La Seaport |
| Cam Pha Seaport | Cua Viet Seaport |

For Vietnam visa for cruise ship passengers, the rule is the same as for other gates: the e-visa works if the port your ship uses is on this list. Ask your cruise operator which gate the ship uses and whether you need your own visa. Do not rely on a port name alone; match it with the list above.
What if your port of entry is not showing?
If your port is not in the menu, the e-visa cannot be used at that gate. The form only accepts the 79 gates, so the port of entry not showing on the form is the sign that you need another route.
Your options are to use a listed gate nearby, to change how you enter, or to apply for a visa at a Vietnamese embassy. Do not apply for the e-visa with a gate you do not plan to use just to finish the form. If you have already applied and your plans changed, our guide to changing your entry details explains what can be updated. For the full application, see how to apply, and check your passport rules too.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I enter Vietnam from Cambodia by land with an e-visa?
Yes, through any of the ten Cambodian land border gates on the list, such as Moc Bai. Choose the gate you will use as your entry gate on the form.
Does visa on arrival work at a land border?
No. Visa on arrival works only at four airports: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Cam Ranh. At a land border or seaport you need an e-visa or an embassy visa.
Does the e-visa work for cruise passengers?
Yes, if your ship docks at one of the 38 seaports on the list. Ask your cruise operator which port the ship uses, and check with them whether they handle entry.
Do I choose an exit gate as well as an entry gate?
Yes. The form asks for both, and each menu lists the same 79 gates. Pick the gates you really plan to use.
How many ports accept the Vietnam e-visa?
79 border gates: 15 international airports, 26 land border gates and 38 seaports (as of October 2026).
