How to apply Vietnam evisa

A Vietnam e-visa payment not received status after money left your account rarely means the money is lost, so check the application status before you pay again. When you have paid for a Vietnam e-visa but it shows as not received, the charge may be a hold, or the page closed before the payment was recorded. This part of our guide to e-visa problems and fixes covers causes, when to send proof, what proof works, how to send it and what follows.

Where you paid decides where the proof goes. If you have not ordered yet, you can choose a service first.

Vietnam e-visa payment not received: four causes

A Vietnam e-visa payment is usually not received for one of four reasons:

  1. Temporary hold: Your bank reserved the amount, but the payment did not complete. The hold drops off later.
  2. Page closed too early: The payment completed, but the browser closed or lost connection before returning to the confirmation page, so the order was not marked as paid.
  3. Declined after the hold: The bank approved the hold, then the payment failed a security check, and the Vietnam e-visa page shows "payment failed".
  4. Status not yet updated: The payment went through and the record has not caught up.

Only the second and fourth cases need proof. In the first and third, the money comes back on its own.

When to send proof of payment

Send proof of payment only once the charge has moved from pending to posted on your statement. A pending amount does not show whether the payment went through.

You applied on evisa.gov.vn

An "Unpaid" status on a Vietnam visa application after a card charge means evisa.gov.vn has not updated the payment yet, or it did not complete. Search for the application on evisa.gov.vn with your registration code, email and date of birth.

Our page on how to check your Vietnam visa status shows each step. As of October 2026, the e-visa site lists no payment hotline, so your bank confirms whether the charge completed.

You ordered through us

Our tracker shows "Application submitted" until your payment is recorded, and "In processing" once it is. If your card was charged but the tracker still shows "Application submitted", or no confirmation email arrived (check spam first), send us proof. A payment page closed before it returned to our site is the usual cause.

What counts as proof of payment

Proof of payment for a Vietnam visa is any record from your bank or the payment page that shows the amount, the date and time, and the merchant name. A screenshot is fine as long as those details are readable.

Proof What it must show
Bank or card statement line Amount, posted date, merchant name
Banking app transaction detail Amount, date and time, status "completed" or "posted"
Payment confirmation screen Amount and a transaction or reference number

How to send it

You send proof for an order with us by email to [email protected] or on WhatsApp at +84 879 932 635, 8:00 to 21:00 (GMT+7). Put your booking number in the first line, then the screenshot and the email used on the order. Other channels are on our contact page.

For an application filed on evisa.gov.vn, we cannot match a payment on that site. Ask your bank whether the charge completed, and keep the statement.

What happens after you send proof

Once we match your proof to a completed payment, your order is marked as paid and processing starts. Processing time begins only after we receive your full payment and correct information, not when your card was charged.

Sending proof does not make the Vietnam Immigration Department decide faster; it only lets the application move. Two questions usually follow: whether to pay a second time while you wait, and what to do if your flight is close.

Paying again and other options

Paying a second time too early turns a payment problem into a refund problem, and a close flight changes which option fits.

Should you pay a second time?

Pay again only after the first charge has dropped off as a released hold, or your bank confirms it failed. Two completed payments to evisa.gov.vn mean two fees and a request to your bank; our guide to a Vietnam e-visa refund explains what each side can return.

If your flight is close

If you applied on evisa.gov.vn and the status will not move in time, we can expedite an application you filed once its payment shows as completed. If no valid application exists, a new urgent e-visa through us includes the government fee, with delivery times shown at checkout.

eVisaVietnam.com is a private visa service operated by TK VIET NAM., JSC, not the Vietnamese government. You can apply yourself at evisa.gov.vn for US$25, or apply for your e-visa through us with the government fee included and staff checking your file before it is submitted.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I pay by bank transfer?

No. Orders with eVisaVietnam.com are paid by credit or debit card on our payment page, with no card surcharge. If a card is declined, ask your bank to allow online payments to a Vietnamese merchant, or use another card.

How long does evisa.gov.vn take to show a payment?

evisa.gov.vn does not publish a time for updating payments. Check the status again later the same day, and do not pay a second time while the first charge is still pending. If the charge posts and the status stays "Unpaid", keep the bank record and ask your bank.

I did not get a confirmation email. Is my order placed?

Check your spam folder, then look up the order in our tracker with your booking number. "In processing" means we recorded the payment. "Application submitted" with a completed charge on your statement means the payment was not matched yet, so send us proof.

Is it safe to send a bank screenshot?

Yes, if you cover what we do not need: all but the last four card digits, your balance and other transactions. We only need the amount, the date and the merchant name, and we never ask for the card's expiry date or security code.
